RMS Ascania, launched 20 Dec 1923, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Renamed HMS Ascania in 1939 as a armed merchant cruiser. Also used as a troop ship in 1942/43/44 & 1956(Suez). RMS Ascania was retired in Dec 1956.
